The No. 16 Auburn Tigers will have a challenge on its hands on Saturday by facing Ole Miss on the road.
The Tigers defeated Ole Miss, 82-59, on Jan. 20 in a dominating effort that saw them beat the Rebels in several categories such as field goal percentage, three-point percentage, free-throw percentage, and points in the paint. Ole Miss has won three games since the last meeting and has yet to lose a game at home this season.
Despite the Rebels’ success at home, ESPN expects Auburn to escape with a win. In its latest projection, ESPN has given Auburn a 76.0% chance to beat Ole Miss according to the matchup predictor.
Auburn is better than Ole Miss in almost every major stat category such as points scored, points allowed, and rebounds. The Rebels have the advantage in steals, which will force Auburn to protect the ball more in key situations. In the Jan. 20 game, Auburn lost the rebound battle by one to Ole Miss, 30-29, so they also have to ensure a board win to leave the tough road environment as a winner.
