Auburn has 81.6% chance to beat California on Saturday

ESPN expects Auburn to beat Cal comfortably on Saturday.

Auburn football looks to continue its winning ways on Saturday in its week two matchup against California, and ESPN thinks it will do so when it takes the field that afternoon.

The latest data from the ESPN Football Power Index and matchup predictor shows the Tigers to have an 81.6% chance to beat the Golden Bears in Jordan-Hare Stadium, helping them to a 2-0 start in their 2024 campaign.

The ESPNBet analytics favor Auburn at -13 with an over/under total of 53.5 points. Fans that watched last year’s contest between the two might argue that the point total is way too high, but the Tigers’ offensive performance last week gives them optimism that they can come out on top in this one.

Through one game California ranks 15th in the ACC in total offense after racking up just 281 yards last week. They scored 31 points (9th) with 179 passing yards (13th) and 102 rushing yards (13th). Auburn looks to improve on its dominating play from last week, when it posted 628 yards of total offense and scored 73 points.

The Tigers and Golden Bears will meet on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CST, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
