The Auburn Tigers will face No. 17 Baylor in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Tuesday night in what is forecasted to be a tight contest.
FanDuel lists Auburn as a 1.5-point favorite heading into the game, with the over/under set at 144.5. How does ESPN view the game? They also expect the game to be close, but see the game going the other way.
According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, Baylor has a 54% chance to escape Sanford Pavilion with a win.
The game will provide a challenge to the Tigers, as they try to break in several transfers and a five-star freshman in Aden Holloway. Playing a team like Baylor, who won the NCAA Tournament National Championship in 2021, will bring to light many weaknesses that Bruce Pearl hopes to correct early on.
“It’s one of the things I keep talking to my team about. We’re going to get exposed. I would have loved to get more exposed in the preseason. What I mean by exposed is what are we good at? What are we going to struggle with? My anticipation would be the physicality, rebounding, some other things — where do we go from here? Great opportunity to play a team in the top 25 — we’re not. We have so many quality opponents in the preseason…it’s here. How quickly can we adjust? I told the guys I wanted them to remain positive with each other because we have so much teaching to do with so many new guys.”
Auburn faces Baylor on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN from Sanford Pavilion in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
