It wasn’t a big fall but Auburn did fall in the latest USA TODAY coaches poll.
Despite being 4-0 on the season the Tigers slipped from No. 15 to No. 16 in the USA TODAY coaches poll released on Monday.
The Tigers won both their games since last week’s poll, taking down Winthrop 89-65 and Texas Southern 72-56. Auburn’s offense has struggled in opening halves but has been lights out after the break and combined with their tough defense has let Auburn pull away in each game.
Their 16th-place ranking is good enough for the third highest in the SEC, trailing No. 9 Arkansas and No. 13 Kentucky.
The Tigers will return to action Tuesday against Bradley. The game is part of the Cancun Challenge and will start at 5 p.m. and will be on the CBS Sports Network.
