With the decision to keep head coach Bryan Harsin, which was made on Friday it is time to move forward. One of the biggest priorities moving forward for the head coach in his second year is keeping top assistant Zac Etheridge in-house.
Recently the cornerbacks coach was among the top candidates for the vacancy with the Georgia Bulldogs. Given the amount of uncertainty surrounding Harsin’s future, it would be completely understandable for assistants to gauge interest in other coaching opportunities.
But when it comes to Etheridge, he isn’t just any other assistant on the staff. He has been within the Auburn family for a long time. He joined Bryan Harsin’s initial staff at his alma mater after serving on the Houston Cougars staff and at ULL before that. Etheridge was a team captain on the national championship team in 2010. He knows what it means to be an Auburn Tiger.
On Saturday, Etheridge took to Twitter to quell any rumors about his departure from the team he helped bring the crystal ball to.

The Tigers’ top recruiter looks to be staying right where he belongs. Etheridge was recently rated as one of the top recruiters in the country and an integral part of Bryan Harsin’s staff. We will count this as a win for Harsin, the staff, and the Auburn family.
