The Auburn Tigers basketball team could get a piece back for its opening matchup in the SEC Tournament.
Center Dylan Cardwell, who injured his ankle against Alabama and then did not play in the team’s final matchup of the regular season against Tennessee, could be returning to action on Thursday when the Tigers square off against the Arkansas Razorbacks at 6 p.m. CT as reported by On3’s Sam Gillenwater.
Bruce Pearl said that it was “possible” that Cardwell could make an appearance on Thursday, noting that he did practice for the game but was still limited. Cardwell has mostly been a bench player, averaging just 13.7 minutes per game so far this year, but the depth will be crucial if the Tigers hope to win the tournament from the No. 7 seed.
His best game on the year came on against Missouri on Valentine’s Day, where he netted 10 rebounds and scored eight points in the 17 minutes he played.
