Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Atlanta Falcons (3-4) are on the road in Week 9 facing a division opponent in the New Orleans Saints (5-2), who have won three games in a row. Their game Sunday afternoon kicks off at 1 p.m. ET at Caesars Superdome. Below, we look at the Falcons vs. Saints odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Falcons are coming off a 19-13 loss at home to the Carolina Panthers. They mustered only 213 yards of offense, and QB Matt Ryan was picked off twice in the game. They had won three of their previous four games.

The Saints lost QB Jameis Winston for the rest of the season in their 36-27 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. He tore his ACL and QB Trevor Siemian finished the game with a touchdown pass, and S P.J. Williams returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown on the Bucs’ final drive, preventing them from winning the game.

Falcons at Saints odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Saints 20, Falcons 17

Money line

Both teams have actually fared better on the road than at home this season. The Falcons are 2-1 on the road, and the Saints are 2-1 at home but 3-1 on the road.

QB Matt Ryan is 9-16 in his career against the Saints, and the Saints have won six of the last seven contests. The Falcons offense is inconsistent. They have scored at least 30 twice but 17 or fewer three times.

The Saints allow the fourth-fewest points in the league, giving up only 18.3 per game. Even with no Winston at quarterback, the Saints’ defense will carry them.

Take the SAINTS (-270).

Against the spread

The Saints are 4-3 ATS while the Falcons are 3-4 ATS.

The Saints at 1-1 ATS at home this season. The Falcons are 2-1 ATS on the road.

However, the Saints will rely on the defense and running game, which will lead to a closer outcome, even if the Saints ultimately win the game.

Take the FALCONS +5.5 (-103).

Over/Under

The Saints only allow 18.3 points per game. The Falcons are only averaging 21.1 points per game.

The Saints do average 25.1 per contest but that will surely drop with the change to Siemian at quarterback, where the running game will become much more important.

Take UNDER 41.5 (-115).
