The Atlanta Braves (20-14) and Boston Red Sox (12-23) continue a three-game series at Fenway Park Tuesday night. First pitch is at 7:30 p.m. ET. We analyze the Braves-Red Sox betting odds and lines, with MLB picks and best bets.
Braves at Red Sox: Projected starting pitchers
RHP Ian Anderson vs. RHP Ryan Weber
Anderson is a rookie right-hander making his second career start. In his Aug. 26 debut, the 22-year-old went six frames against the New York Yankees, allowing just a solo home run.
- Anderson has a bread-and-butter change-up, a pitch he threw 39% of the time in his game against the Yankees. New York couldn’t muster any offense and ranks third in MLB in production against change-ups.
Weber is the opener in what figures to be a bullpen effort for the Red Sox. The right-hander has registered a 6.00 ERA through 24 IP spanning three starts and five relief appearances.

Moneyline (ML)
Boston has coughed up a league-high 6.1 runs per game and no other team is even close to that. The Crimson Hose endured an awful stretch in mid-August, but since Aug. 19 has gone a respectable 6-5. The Boston bats have been better with high-contact .804 OPS over the last two weeks.
The relief corps isn’t top-10, but it has deserved a better fate than the 5.28 ERA it’s currently posting. Red Sox relievers do have all kinds of problems against right-handed bats, and that’s a particular concern against Atlanta, a righty-bashing (.845 OPS) offense which has cranked out 5.2 RPG this season.
Still, in the risk/reward equation, the price is right on Boston getting past Anderson his second time out in what figures as a high-scoring affair. The lean is on the RED SOX (+145), but consider a line watch in a hunt for something around +150.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)
There isn’t much wiggle room here, but a five-cent swing lower on Boston would bring the run line back into play. The run-and-a-half is tagged at RED SOX +1.5 (-110).
Over/Under (O/U)
The OVER 10 (-110) is worth backing in what figures as a 2020 COVID-roster-rule bullpen night in a hitters’ yard.
