It is well known that the UCLA Bruins, along with USC Trojans, Washington Huskies, and Oregon Ducks are set to join the Big Ten conference. There are no more “ifs” or “buts” with these teams joining force. It will happen, and it will happen THIS coming football season. The biggest question mark is how will the former Pac-12 teams fare in the newly formed Big Ten.
Jaren Spor Athlon Sports is questioning the Bruins with their first-year head coach:
As I mentioned, UCLA’s big question mark is new head coach DeShaun Foster. He is a first-time head coach but previously coached the Bruins’ running backs. Under Foster, UCLA led the Pac-12 in rushing two seasons in a row and beat USC.
The Bruins’ questions are whether he’s ready to be a head coach and whether he can recruit at a high level. We don’t know those things now, but we should know them soon.
The Bruins kick off their season on August 31st in Hawaii. The Bruins will then take a week off before playing their next game. That will be the Big-Ten opener, as they host the Indiana Hoosiers. That begins a tough stretch for the Bruins as they have LSU and Oregon to finish the month of September.
