The UCLA Bruins football program is ushering in a new era as Chip Kelly left for Ohio State and the school hired DeShaun Foster as the head coach.
It is a tough task for Foster, especially with him being a first-time head coach and UCLA making the move to the Big Ten Conference.
Steven Lassan handed out grades for each of the new head coaching hires in college football, and DeShaun Foster and UCLA earned a C+ grade.

Foster was a standout running back with the Bruins from 1998-2001 and has injected needed energy into the program. However, he’s a first-time head coach guiding UCLA through a significant transition to the Big Ten.
It’s not a good grade for UCLA, and it makes sense. Foster has never been a head coach, UCLA is going to the Big Ten, and the program is in a tough spot after a rough tenure by Chip Kelly.
But, the only way to go from here is up.
