There’s a very easy way to get over a loss. Watch your rival bow out in an even more embarrassing fashion.
Just a day after Iowa lost to Auburn in the opening round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, rival Iowa State turned in one of the worst tournament performances ever. While its defense was as tough as usual, it legitimately could not score, losing to 11th-seeded Pittsburgh, 59-41.
Now, folks, it may be some heavy levels of coping to celebrate a rival’s loss after you just suffered your own, but that’s what the other side is doing, so why not participate?!
Iowa State looked lost on offense, showing the same scoring struggles that it showed all season. Again, it has great defense, but you still have to put the ball in the bucket. It shot 23.3% from the field, including going 2 of 21 from behind the arc. Not ideal at all.
