Associated Press Top 25 keeps the Iowa Hawkeyes at No. 4

The Associated Press released their newest top 25 and the top 12 teams all held serve. The 11-1 Iowa Hawkeyes stayed put at No. 4.

The top of the women’s college basketball game is very top-heavy at the moment. Each team is holding serve and waiting for another team to blink first. There isn’t much faltering going on with the top-ranked teams.

In this week’s Associated Press Women’s College Basketball Top 25, the top 12 teams all stayed put with wins in their most recent games. The Iowa Hawkeyes are sitting at No. 4 again this week with no movement.

The three teams ahead of the Hawkeyes remain the same. At No. 1 is the South Carolina Gamecocks, followed by the UCLA Bruins at No. 3 and the North Carolina State Wolfpack at No. 3.

Trying to catch Iowa and sitting right behind them is a group of heavy hitters. The Texas Longhorns sit at No. 5, the USC Trojans at No. 6, the LSU Tigers at No. 7, and the Colorado Buffaloes at No. 8.

Iowa took care of business in Des Moines taking down Cleveland State 104-75. Up next for the Hawkeyes is Loyola-Chicago at home in Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 5:00 p.m. CT. This is the final out-of-conference matchup for Iowa before they open up Big Ten play at home against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday, Dec. 30.
