The Atlanta Falcons led by eight points over Washington in the fourth quarter with the offense firing on all cylinders. Then, just like that, the defense started to crack, the offense went eerily quiet, and the Falcons would go on to lose their third game of the season, 34-30.
It’s frustrating for fans, who saw the team’s best offensive performance by a mile be wasted by conservative play calls and defensive lapses with the game hanging in the balance. Head coach Arthur Smith called his best game on Sunday, until it mattered most.
