Armando Bacot is back to recruiting players to UNC

UNC basketball center Armando Bacot was quick to try and recruit other players to the Tar Heels after announcing his return.

Wednesday had some good news and bad news for the UNC basketball program in terms of the 2023-24 roster as the roller-coaster offseason continues.

Hours after Puff Johnson announced he was entering the transfer portal, center Armando Bacot announced he was returning for a fifth and final year in Chapel Hill. The two-time All-ACC first-team selection is back and will be one of the preseason favorites for player of the year in the conference.

By getting Bacot back, North Carolina has the program’s all-time leading rebounder back and a big piece for the starting lineup. However, it has to fill holes on the roster, and Bacot is already doing his best to try to recruit players.

The Tar Heels are welcoming a two-man recruiting class of Simeon Wilcher and Zayden High. Plus, they have been active in the transfer portal with a few targets already.

Hubert Davis and his staff have scholarships available, and they have options. Let’s see just how much of input Bacot has for this roster.
