The UNC basketball program has one more regular-season game left in the 2022-23 season and that is on Saturday at home.
Not only is it the final home game, it’s against Duke and it’s senior night for the Tar Heels. The COVID-19 year given to players across all sports allowed players who were in college during the COVID-19 pandemic season an extra year of eligibility .
That applies to forward [autotag]Armando Bacot[/autotag]. The standout UNC big is in his fourth year in Chapel Hill.
On Thursday, he was asked about the potential of Saturday being his final home game.
Bacot’s response: ‘I don’t know. … I haven’t made a decision.’

Bacot returned to UNC following a terrific junior campaign when he became the first player in NCAA Tournament history with six double-doubles in one NCAA Tournament. He also set the ACC record for double-doubles in a single season (31) and tied the NCAA record that David Robinson set in 1985-86.
Earlier this season, Bacot passed Tyler Hansbrough to take over as North Carolina’s all-time leading rebounder.
On the season, Bacot is averaging 16.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1 block per game.
UNC came into the season ranked No. 1 in the country — now, it is a program on the NCAA Tournament bubble with work to do.
The Tar Heels are 19-11 overall and 11-8 in ACC play.
Bacot and UNC take on Duke at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night and will host “College GameDay” that morning.
