[autotag]Arman Tsarukyan[/autotag] is not interested in [autotag]Michael Chandler[/autotag] vs. [autotag]Paddy Pimblett[/autotag] at UFC 314.
Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) meets rising lightweight contender Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) in a five-round co-main event April 12 at Kaseya Center in Miami (ESPN+ pay-per-view).
Both ranked lightweights in Tsarukyan’s division, the top contender won’t be keeping an eye on that fight.
“I don’t know. They’re both not good, so I don’t follow them,” Tsarukyan told The Schmo. “It’s like a 50-50 fight. It’s just a hype fight. I don’t watch their fights because they’re not on my level. It’s top-five fighters or real contenders’ fights.”
Tsarukyan, who withdrew from his title fight against lightweight champion Islam Makhachev just a day before UFC 311, has to work his way back to a title shot after Dana White said he won’t rebook their fight. Tsarukyan only has his sights set on a top contender who will bring him back to that position.
“I think so,” Tsarukyan said on Ilia Topuria being next for Makhachev. “And I’m open for everybody from the top five. I don’t want to fight someone from the top 10 because I’m the No. 1 contender, and I’ve got to fight for the title.”
