Arkansas would be 26th in AP Poll this week

Arkansas would be 26th in FBS if the poll extended beyond the Top 25.

Like the coaches poll released earlier Sunday, Arkansas found itself outside the Top 25 in the Associated Press poll.

The Razorbacks (5-3) beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, 45-3, but because of the level of the opponent, Arkansas made almost no inroads back toward the rankings. Coach Sam Pittman’s team earned 36 points via the voting system, enough to put them a de facto 26th in the slotting.

Arkansas had 29 points last week, checking at the equivalent of 28th.

In all, the SEC had six teams ranked. Of the four games left on Arkansas’ schedule, however, it includes only such team: No. 3 Alabama. The Razorbacks are off this week but return November 5 against Mississippi State in Fayetteville.

The rest of the ranked teams in the SEC are Georgia (1), Ole Miss (10), Kentucky (12), Texas A&M (14) and Auburn (18). Florida picked up a total of three points in the voting.
