Andrew Lindsey (0-2) made his first start for Tennessee and pitched three innings. He recorded five strikeouts, while allowing two earned runs, four hits and zero walks.
Jared Dickey started in left field and went 2-for-4 for the Vols. He hit a home run and recorded Tennessee’s only RBI in the game.
Maui Ahuna, Hunter Ensley, Griffin Merritt and Christian Moore each had hits for Tennessee.
First pitch for game No. 2 on Saturday is slated for 7 p.m. EDT (SEC Network+).
