Arkansas Target Looks To Make Decision By Next Month

Anthony Black, a 2022 guard from Duncanville, Texas, enjoyed his visit to Fayetteville on Saturday. How close is he to announcing his next stop?

Saturday’s game between No. 23 Arkansas and No. 16 Tennessee had a guest list that was paramount, which included former Razorbacks who now call the NBA home such as Bobby Portis and Moses Moody. Among those names that were on the guest list was 2022 prospect Anthony Black.

Black, a five-star guard from Duncanville, Texas attended the game for his first visit to Fayetteville since September, when he visited for a football game. Black talked about his first experience inside Bud Walton Arena with Kevin McPherson of Pig Trail Nation.

“I enjoyed my visit back (in September), but I didn’t get to come to a (basketball) game and experience everything,” says Black. “Now that I got to come to a game with the energy and all the things they talk about, I got to see it first hand. So it was good.”

The current signing class for Arkansas includes five-starts Nick Smith Jr. and Jordan Walsh. Not only have those two becomes friends with Black, but they have been recruiting him to join them in Fayetteville as well.

“They are telling me that they think that we’d be awfully good, and that we he have a chance to win a lot of games,” says Black of Smith and Walsh’s recruiting efforts. “They are not lying to me telling me anything that’s not real. They are being really good friends, they are telling me that they think we’d all be good together.”

Black also has something in common with Smith and Walsh, as Black will also be competing in the McDonald’s All-America game in Chicago, Ill. on March 29. Black says that he should make his college decision around that time frame.
