Two days, two wins.
Arkansas beat Eastern Illinois for the second straight day on Saturday to clinch the series against the Panthers with a 10-3 win from Baum Walker Stadium.
The Diamond Hogs scored runs in each of the first three innings and exploded for a five-run eighth for some insurance. Tavian Josenberger, the Kansas transfer, popped a two-run homer in the second to give Arkansas a 3-0 lead. In the eighth, Brady Slavens, Ben McLaughlin and Parker Rowland had RBI singles and Jace Bohrofen hit a two-run double.
Bohrofen had the best day at the plate as he went 2 for 4 with a walk, two doubles and two runs in addition to his two RBI.
Meanwhile, Will McEntire, who kept his spot as the No. 2 weekend starter after conjecture – even from coach Dave Van Horn – kept Eastern Illinois off-balance. McEntire worked 4 2/3 innings, giving up just one run on two hits two walks while striking out four.
Arkansas will go for the sweep on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
