A night win in Death Valley and the Razorbacks are ranked again.
Arkansas beat LSU, 16-13, on Saturday night in overtime when Cam Little’s 27-yard field goal sent the Hogs sideline into a blitz onto the field to pick up the Golden Boot. About 18 hours later, Arkansas re-entered the rankings.
The Hogs check-in at No. 22 in AFCA USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll for Week 11. Arkansas had spent the last three weeks on the outside, going anywhere from a de facto No. 26 to No. 29. Coach Sam Pittman’s team did crack the College Football Playoff rankings last week, though, despite their absence from the two traditional polls.
No more. Arkansas is 7-3 with two games remaining in the regular season. Its opponent in the penultimate game is Alabama, which is ranked No. 2 in the poll. The Hogs then finish the year with Missouri the day after Thanksgiving.
In all, five teams in the SEC were ranked. Georgia stayed at No. 1. Alabama was No. 2. Ole Miss is No. 10. Texas A&M fell five spots to No. 16. Auburn dropped out of the poll, but was joined in receiving votes by Kentucky (26th) and Mississippi State (30th).
