A day after an absolute demolition of Georgia Southern, Arkansas finds itself as the No. 18 team in the nation.
The USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll was released at 11 a.m. Sunday and found the Razorbacks up six spots from their No. 24 spot last week. Each week has seen Arkansas climb in the rankings.
Coach Sam Pittman’s team received three points in the preseason poll, 11 points after beating Rice in Week 1 and enter the poll last week upon beating Texas.
Arkansas opens SEC play this week against Texas A&M at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Aggies, ranked No. 5 in the poll, have beaten the Razorbacks in nine straight matchups in the series.
Other SEC teams inside the top 25 include Alabama (1), Georgia (2), Florida (12), Ole Miss (13) and Auburn (23).
LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri were not ranked, though LSU was the top vote-getting team outside the Top 25.
After A&M, Arkansas travels to Athens to play Georgia in Week 5 and to Oxford in Week 6 to play Ole Miss. A home game against Auburn follows on Oct. 16.
The kickoff against the Aggies on Saturday is at 2:30 p.m. on CBS.
