Arkansas running back AJ Green had never been on a plane before.

The freshman from Tulsa took his first such ride when the Razorbacks traveled to greater Dallas in Week 4 to play Texas A&M. Apparently, the ride didn’t faze him. Green caught a 48-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter to give the Hogs a 17-0 lead in what was ultimately a 20-10 win.

Arkansas had more than a 40% chance to get that victory against then-No. 5 Texas A&M. The Hogs’ percentage isn’t quite that high Between the Hedges in Athens: ESPN has Arkansas pegged with just an 11% chance to beat the Bulldogs.

Georgia has lost just once since 2017 when playing at home. Arkansas has yet to play a true road game, even if the game against the Aggies was in another state.

It still helped prepare the Hogs for what comes against the Bulldogs.

“I think us traveling last week to Dallas, I think that helped us,” Pittman said. “We went through the process of how we will travel. We know we’ll get 93,000 folks there at Georgia. We know it’s going to be extremely loud. I think last week prepared us a little bit for that.”

Nerves shouldn’t be much of an issue. The Razorbacks dealt with those in the first half of the Rice game. But combine the butterflies that will exist, at least early, with the early kick time and the game is tricky on two fronts.

Pittman prepared for 11 a.m. kickoffs, too.

“I think we went almost a week where we practiced in the morning so we could be ready for an 11 o’clock game here. Those things, I think we’re prepared for. The crowd is going to be incredible there. It’s College GameDay. I think last week helped us a little bit because half the crowd was against.”
