Arkansas not in AP Poll this week

Arkansas football is on the fringe of the Top 25.

The coaches and media think of Arkansas similarly.

Hours after the Razorbacks checked in at a practical No. 29 in the coaches poll, Arkansas was ostensibly No. 30 in the AP Poll.

Technically, the Hogs are unranked. But having picked up 72 points in the voting, Arkansas had the 30th most and showed as the team with the fifth most votes outside the top 25.

Arkansas had 36 points in last week’s poll.

Arkansas (5-3, 1-3) has four games left in the season. The Razorbacks are coming off a bye week and return Saturday at home against Mississippi State. Games at LSU and No. 3 Alabama follow before the season finale against Missouri back in Fayetteville.

The SEC had six teams inside the top 25: Georgia (1), Alabama (3), Auburn (12), Texas A&M (13), Ole Miss (15) and Kentucky (18).
