Arkansas moves up in AP Poll, too

Hogs stay ahead of A&M and Kentucky in the AP Poll, unlike the coaches’.

Just like in the coaches poll minutes before, Arkansas found itself up one spot in the media poll, too.

The Razorbacks were ranked No. 22 in the first Associated Press Poll after conference championship weekend, ahead from No. 23 last week. Arkansas did not play on the weekend after finishing its regular season with an 8-4 record and a win over Missouri in the season finale.

The most significant, if largely irrelevant, difference between the two polls were the slotting of the SEC teams around Arkansas. In the coaches poll, both Kentucky and Texas A&M were ahead of the Razorbacks. In the media poll, Texas A&M is No. 23 and Kentucky is No. 25.

Arkansas beat Texas A&M in Week 4 during the regular season.

Other ranked SEC teams were No. 1 Alabama, No. 3 Georgia and No. 8 Ole Miss. Three of Arkansas’ four losses came to those teams as they finished 8-4 for its best regular season record since going 10-2 in 2011.
