Arkansas Gymnastics Returns to SEC Competition Friday

After an impressive showing against SEMO, No. 14 Arkansas Gymnastics returns to the SEC stage on Friday with a meet against No. 10 Kentucky.

After an impressive showing last Sunday against Southeast Missouri, No. 14 Arkansas Gymnastics is ready to return to the SEC stage on Friday with a meet against No. 10 Kentucky in Barnhill Arena.

Despite a short turnaround, head coach Jordyn Wieber says that her squad has worked hard to improve this week.

“The message is very similar week to week: How can we get a little bit better, how can we improve on half-tenths, how can we get a little more consistent?” says Wieber in a press release from Arkansas athletics. “So practice has been great and I’m really looking forward to a great match-up with Kentucky on Friday night.”

Kentucky enters the meet with a 196.925 average, with their best event being the vault, where they average 9.820 per meet. Arkansas keeps improving, as they reached their second 197 score of the season last Sunday versus Southeast Missouri. The key event for Arkansas this season has been beam, with an average of 9.794.

Arkansas faces Kentucky tonight in Barnhill Arena, first event begins at 6:45 p.m. CT.
