Signing Day began Wednesday for players across the country.

Er, world.

Arkansas received paperwork from Australian punter Max Fletcher on Tuesday, making him the first signee of coach Sam Pittman’s 2022 recruiting class. Fletcher was able to submit so early because when he shipped the signing off to the university, it was about 7 a.m. in Melbourne, Australia. Officially Wednesday.

Fletcher follows in the footsteps of Sam Irwin-Hill, an Australian who punted for the Razorbacks in 2013-14.

He is one of 20 hard commits for the Hogs who are expected to sign in the coming hours. That class, without changes, is ranked No. 20 in the country, per 247Sports’ rankings.

Fletcher plans to enroll in January. He will compete against returning starting punter Reid Bauer and rising sophomore Patrick Foley for duties in the fall.
