The day before signing day was a busy one for Razorbacks football, as they received commitments from two in-state prospects in preferred walk-on roles.
The first to announce their pledge to the Hogs was John Paul Perkins, a 2022 Free Safety from Jonesboro. Perkins finished second in tackles for the Jonesboro High Hurricanes with 75. He also intercepted three passes and recovered a fumble.
Perkins chose the Razorbacks over Arkansas State, Air Force, Army, and Troy.

Later Tuesday afternoon, Brooks Edmonson, an offensive lineman from Bryant proclaimed that he was “staying home.”

Despite receiving offers from multiple Ivy League programs, and even being committed to Princeton at one time, Edmonson took a PWO offer to stay close to home and to have the opportunity to wear the Arkansas uniform.
“He has done everything a high school player can do. He is very unselfish works tirelessly in the classroom and the football field and weight room. Brooks is going to win life and he will do whatever he set his mind to do. He has proven that in his high school career.”
Edmonson chose Arkansas over Princeton, ULM, Kansas, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Pennsylvania.
