Arkansas baseball held its spot in the SEC standings at second-place after Friday’s round of games across the conference.
But after Texas A&M took the first game of a three-game series against the Razorbacks in College Station, Arkansas is just one game up on third-place Georgia as teams enter the back-half of league play.
Arkansas (30-8, 11-5) will try to pull a game back against the Aggies (24-13, 9-7) on Saturday. Game 2 is scheduled for a 2 p.m. CT first pitch.
Hogs coach Dave Van Horn will go to his usual Game 2 starter, freshman left-hander Hagen Smith. A&M will counter with righty Micah Dallis, who has been perhaps the Aggies’ best this season.
