Arkansas among 30 teams to play for men’s golf national title

Few teams in the country are as hot as the Razorbacks after last weekend’s Regionals.

Arkansas’ record-breaking season will continue for a potential national championship.

The Razorbacks are one of 30 men’s golf participants headed to Grayhawk Golf Club’s Raptor Course in Scottsdale, Arizona, next week. The schools will start May 26 with final round play set for May 29. From there, quarterfinals and semifinals will occur on May 30 and the title match May 31.

Arkansas is entered as the No. 35 team in the country. That’s six-lowest among the 30 participants. But fewer teams are shooting hotter than the Razorbacks, either.

The Hogs shot a 819, 45-under at their Regional, marking the fifth best, 54-hole score in NCAA Regional Tournament history. All five of Arkansas’ individual golfers shot under par.

Those golfers – Segundo Oliva Pinto, Wil Gibson, Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, Manuel Lozada and Julian Perico – will represent Arkansas in Arizona.
