Arizona State Sun Devils Season Prediction, What Will Happen

The 2021 Arizona State team was a tad overloved, and now the 2022 version will probably be way, way overlooked.

Don’t count out Herm Edwards and his era quite yet.

The transfer portal did a whole lot to help replace the parts, the lines will still be good, and the defense and running game should be great. Now Edwards and the Sun Devils have to find something that’s been painfully missing during his tenure.

Consistency.

It’s been a good enough team to come up with occasional wins over Michigan State, and USC, and Utah, and Oregon … and then a clunker against a mediocre team is right around the corner.

There weren’t any truly bad losses last year, but getting rocked at home by Washington State and stumbling in a key late season loss to Oregon State were difference-makers.

Yes, this team should be better than expected, but that lack of coming up with all the wins it should take will still be a problem.

Set The Arizona State Sun Devils Regular Season Win Total At … 7

At Oklahoma State and at USC. Those are the two big problems on the schedule, and neither one is a 100% sure-thing loss.

There’s no Oregon to face, the Utah and UCLA games are at home, and there are more than enough wins to at least go bowling.

There will be one win ASU probably shouldn’t have, and there will be at least one loss – watch out for back-to-back road games at Stanford and Colorado – that keep the year from taking off.
