Arizona quarterback Jordan McCloud suffered a significant knee and leg injury in the Wildcats’ 34-16 loss to UCLA and will miss the remainder of the season, sources confirmed to 247Sports.
McCloud had completed 21-of-30 passes for 182 yards against UCLA before Gunner Cruz replaced the injured McCloud in the third quarter.
It had appeared McCloud was beginning to take charge of the QB battle, but the sophomore will unfortunately end his season with 481 passing yards and two touchdowns. McCloud transferred to Arizona in January after spending his two previous seasons at South Florida.

Colorado will host Arizona on Saturday and it’s expected that Cruz will now get the start. Cruz, who ended the game 4-for-7 with 48 yards, was initially Arizona’s starter to begin the season but has since relinquished snaps to Will Plummer and McCloud.
Arizona dropped to 0-5 following the loss.
