A private golf club in Flagstaff, Arizona, is thinking outside the box with some new amenities for its membership.

How does a soccer pitch sound? What about a flag football field that can also accommodate rugby? And while they’re at it, why not a whiffle ball diamond, where retired Major League Baseball pitcher Kyle Lohse was recently on the mound, serving up balls for a home run derby?

Pine Canyon is already highly acclaimed as a golf course, ranking 14th on Golfweek’s Best private golf courses in Arizona. But the club has gone next level with its new offerings at The Yard, the new multi-acre park. The diamond is complete with dugouts and an outfield fence and will host ‘Beer League’ Whiffle Ball games on Sunday evenings.

The idea is bring new activities to the membership, get people outside playing and have fun. Oh, and the 18-hole layout is always there for those wanting to knock a golf ball around.
