The Boston Celtics seem to be putting pressure on star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to become leaders now that veteran point guard Marcus Smart has been traded.
It is a crucial season for Tatum and Brown to prove themselves as leaders and (hopefully) guide the team to a championship.
Sacrifices are often necessary for the greater good if a franchise hopes to compete at the highest levels. That has been seen in past Celtics’ championship-winning teams.
The Celtics are making moves to reshape their organization after the Flower Mound native’s exit, including hiring experienced assistant coaches and bringing on depth options. The moves also point to a new role for the star pair.
