Since Mack Brown arrived at UNC a few years back, the football program has been able to land some of the top talent in the state of North Carolina.
And they hope that’s the case again here for the 2023 class.
Four-star edge rusher [autotag]Rico Walker[/autotag] is a name the Tar Heels have high on their recruiting board, establishing him as a priority recruit. The 6-foot-3, 233-pound Hickory native is a top 200 recruit overall and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports rankings. But with 24 offers in his recruitment including from UNC, Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Penn State among others, who is the favorite?
The answer just might be UNC.
The Tar Heels hold the lone crystal ball predictor on 247Sports, landing it from Clemson insider Anna Hickey. The crystal ball predictor doesn’t guarantee a commitment but it’s a way to measure where a recruit stands and is potentially leaning.
It’s good news for UNC but they do need to close the deal and get Walker committed.
