Arch Manning throws pass 60 yards, sets Newman mark for touchdowns with 129

Arch Manning is a record-breaking machine for Newman in Louisiana

Arch Manning takes the field for Newman and another record falls.

The heralded Texas recruit has accounted for 129 touchdowns, setting a mark at his Louisiana high school. Manning moved ahead of Jay Tyler, a 2015 graduate who had 127.

If you are wondering what became of Tyler, he went on to play at and attend Stanford.

“I was at all of Jay’s games,” Manning told Nola.com. “He was a playmaker everywhere. It’s fun to be in the same conversation with him.”

In all, he threw four touchdown passes as the Greenies defeated Country Day 31-14, Friday. Manning was 16-of-20 passing for 258 yards.

And this is how and why everyone is so excited about the senior from one of football’s royal families.

Here’s a completed pass that went 60 yards in the air on a third-and-29.

His own highlight reel, which is what happens when you are such a prized recruit.

The record fell on senior night and his parents showed they know how to make an entrance, too.

The Mannings will be tied to Newman forever, per NOLA.com:

  • Newman celebrated the opening of the Manning Fieldhouse on the south end of Michael Lupin Field during a private ceremony before the game. The fieldhouse is an extension of the existing gymnasium originally built in 1951.
