AQ Shipley makes bold prediction for Penn State’s season opener

A.Q. Shipley says West Virginia is not ready for what Penn State is going to unleash in the season opener.

Former Penn State offensive lineman A.Q. Shipley is feeling confident about Penn State’s chances in the season opener against West Virginia. How confident? Extremely.

Shipley hopped on as a guest on the Pat McAfee Show with host Pat McAfee, a noted West Virginia alum and superfan. Mcafee was airing his daily talk show live from Morgantown in front of a vocal crowd of West Virginia fans who had some not-so-kind works for Penn State during the segment.

Naturally, McAfee asked Shipley for his prediction on this weekend’s game, and Shipley went all in on the Nittany Lions by predicting a decisive victory for Penn State.

A 25-point victory, and a 20-point lead at halftime? That would be quite impressive for Penn State, who comes into the game favored by just over a touchdown according to the latest game-day odds.

Shipley is a former teammate of McAfee dating back to their days with the Indianapolis Colts. Shipley played for the Colts in 2012 and again in 2014. McAfee was a two-time Pro Bowl punter for the Colts from 2009 through 2016.

Penn State and West Virginia kick off the season with their game at noon Eastern on Fox.
