Antonio Brown ended up getting a ride out of the stadium from Saquon Barkley’s personal driver

He knew who to call.

By now, you’ve probably seen the video. Antonio Brown removed his jersey, threw his shirt into the stands and left the field in the middle of the third quarter of Sunday’s Week 17 game against the New York Jets.

It was one of the stranger scenes you’ll see in an NFL game, and it ended up being the final act for Brown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was released immediately after the game, missing out on a ton of potential bonus money in the process.

But Brown’s story wasn’t exactly over the moment he left the field. He just quit on his team during an away game, and there was no way he was going to be able to fly back to Tampa on the team plane. So, Brown was stuck there in East Rutherford, N.J., with no means of getting home. Well, it turned out that Brown was able to find someone to help.

It was Saquon Barkley’s personal driver.

Barkley’s driver, who goes by @dannyboyhustlehard on Instagram, shared a series of Instagram Stories that included Brown reaching out for help on FaceTime and Danny going to MetLife Stadium to pick up the stranded wide receiver.

When a photo emerged of Brown standing alone with his luggage outside the stadium, it turned out that he was waiting on Danny to arrive. We know that because Danny even posted an Instagram Story from the car with Brown.

Danny wrote in the caption:

“Oh you thought I was gon leave my dog hangin???”

So, no, Brown didn’t leave the stadium in a police car (as Chris Myers erroneously reported) or Uber all the way back to Tampa, which would have been hilarious. He simply caught a ride to the city with Seth Rogen’s New Jersey doppelgänger.

Quite the twist to the whole saga.
