The North Carolina Tar Heels will be without receiver [autotag]Antoine Green[/autotag] for at least the first few weeks of the 2022 season. After Green suffered a shoulder injury in practice over the weekend, head coach Mack Brown revealed that the receiver underwent surgery and will be out sometime.
Green is expected to be out for 6-10 weeks after undergoing successful surgery with reports stating it was a collarbone injury.
“It was a hitch [route], and he turned inside, and he got hit just running,” Brown told reporters Monday afternoon via ChapelBoro. “Linebacker hits him, and he gets hurt.”
The site also stated that Brown hopes the injury is more on the “six week side” which means he could be ready for UNC’s Week 4 game against Notre Dame in Chapel Hill.
Green is coming off a 2021 season in which he finished with 31 receptions for 612 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was battling to be the No. 2 option behind Josh Downs this training camp.
