Anthony Joshua has met with his promoter, Eddie Hearn, to go over the final details of an agreement to face Tyson Fury in a heavyweight title-unification bout.

The Matchroom promoter told Sky Sports that there were ‘minor details’ left before a deal could be reached. Talks are ongoing with Fury’s co-promoter, Bob Arum, who has asked Hearn to stop giving week-by-week commentary on negotiations.

Still, Hearn said: “Only minor details [need] to be resolved on both ends. We’re in a good place. A.J. was in the office yesterday with us. We had a good meeting to finalize our side of stuff.

“I hate saying two weeks, but two weeks.”

Joshua and Fury are expected to sign a two-fight contract, which would generate tens of millions of dollars for both fighters. The first fight is expected to take place this summer.

Hearn and other promoters have yet to decide upon the venue, with countries including the United States, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and China under consideration.
