Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards reportedly suffered a sprained ankle on Wednesday with the USA Basketball select team during a scrimmage against the Olympic team, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.
Edwards was seen after practice leaving the arena hobbling back to the team bus. The injury is not believed to be serious but, out of an abundance of caution, Edwards will miss the rest of training camp with the select team following the injury.
The Rookie of the Year runner-up was among 17 players named to the select team that opened training camp this week in Las Vegas, Nevada. The select team is practicing and scrimmaging daily to prepare the U.S. national team for the Olympics.

The chance of participating against the Olympic team gave Edwards and the rest of the select team a great opportunity to compete against some of the best the U.S. has to offer. They have the luxury of learning from the best players and coaches and it should prove to be valuable for their development.
Edwards was a unanimous selection to the NBA All-Rookie First Team this season after averaging 19.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
