Anthony Davis says on livestream that he completely understands Aaron Rodgers’ Packers situation

Anthony Davis really does get Aaron Rodgers

If there’s anyone who knows a thing or two about forcing their way out of a less than ideal situation, it’s definitely Anthony Davis.

He demanded a trade in the middle of his final season with the Pelicans and the rest is history. Just a couple of years later, he’s a Laker and an NBA champion.

Aaron Rodgers might be pulling the equivalent of that in the NFL — or at least something close to it. He’s clearly unhappy in his situation with the Packers. So he’s trying to force his way out.

Anthony Davis said he totally understands where he’s coming from. He was playing Call of Duty live on a stream and was asked about the situation by his game chat.

“Man, I don’t want to talk about Aaron Rodgers right now…Come on chat, don’t do that to me chat. Don’t do that to me chat. I thought we were better than that, man. Y’all know how I feel about that. But if anybody understands, chat, you know I understand.”

First of all, AD, buddy, get some good WiFi. Please. Second, he’s got a point. If anyone gets why Rodgers wants out, it’s Davis.

Now, on the surface, there are some stark differences between their situations. Rodgers is already an NFL champion. He’s been one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL. Davis’ situation was different. He’d never won in New Orleans.

But neither situation was really about winning. Both players were searching for situations where they could be happy.  Davis told For The Win earlier this year how key happiness was for him in his move.

That’s the happiness Rodgers is looking for. He believes he can find it elsewhere outside of Green Bay.

Only time will tell how that works out for him.
