Anthony Davis on LeBron James’ MVP case: ‘He should win’

Anthony Davis, it should be no surprise, is strongly supporting his teammate LeBron James as the NBA’s MVP at the end of the season.

With the season nearly 40 percent of the way done, the conversation about who is the MVP of the season is already starting to pick up. Earlier this week, ESPN’s Tim Bontemps shared the results of an informal straw poll of 100 media members so far this season for who is MVP and LeBron James was the winner of the poll, taking 53 of the possible 100 first-place votes.

James was followed by Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Denver’s Nikola Jokic. With the topic of MVP in the air, Anthony Davis was asked about his thoughts about his teammate’s case as the MVP. To AD, it’s not that complicated: LeBron is the MVP.

LeBron has not only been shooting the 3 at an excellent rate this season and still running the offense, but he’s also been a key part of their No. 1 ranked defense through the first 26 games of the season. And he’s yet to miss a game this season, which could also play into his MVP argument if he’s able to miss minimal games by season’s end.
