For the third straight season, Team LeBron won the NBA All-Star Game, winning in the first-ever special game ending between the two teams, over Team Giannis. Anthony Davis hit the game-winning free-throw to push Team LeBron to 157, playing for the first time under a new scoring format, winning 157-155. Team LeBron came back from a nine-point deficit to win the game.
Davis had 19 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, and three steals, while Kawhi Leonard led Team LeBron with 30 points. LeBron James had 23 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Leonard also won the first inaugural Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP award. Team LeBron is now 3-0 under the conference-less All-Star format.
Team Giannis led many times throughout the game but they were in a tight game against Team LeBron throughout the night. Giannis led his squad with 25 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks while Rudy Gobert, Joel Embiid and Kemba Walker all scored over 20 points.
As for Team LeBron, Chris Paul was instrumental for the King, while Ben Simmons was one of the most impactful players in Sunday’s game, scoring 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
