The Los Angeles Lakers are back on the court on Monday night and while they will get LeBron James back in the lineup, the sore bum of Anthony Davis will keep him out for a third straight game after suffering a nasty fall in L.A.’s Jan. 7 win over the New York Knicks.
Davis was considered questionable heading into Monday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers but he will sit again and LeBron James will return to the court, according to USA TODAY’s own Mark Medina. It will be the fifth game this season that Davis has missed, with the Lakers going 4-1 in those games.
The Lakers are fresh off of a huge win on Saturday night without either Davis or LeBron James against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma. The Lakers are currently riding an eight-game winning streak, which is their fourth win-streak of at least seven games so far this season.
Meanwhile, their opponents in the Cavaliers have struggled all season but are coming into Monday as the winners of consecutive games for just the second time this season.
