The Denver Nuggets were just seconds away from a Game 2 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Instead, Anthony Davis drilled his first career playoff game-winning buzzer-beater to send the Lakers to a 105-103 win and a 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals.

Davis scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Lakers while LeBron James had 26 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. The Lakers led by as many as 16 points but the Nuggets managed to come back and briefly take the lead in the fourth quarter.

Nikola Jokic scored 11 of his 30 points in the final period, including the basket to put the Nuggets up by one point with 20.8 seconds left. The Lakers had two chances on the final possession to win and, then, Davis went to work.

Jamal Murray scored 25 points while Michael Porter Jr. had 15 points off the bench. The Nuggets switched up the closing lineup after opting to use P.J. Dozier in the second half for defensive purposes. He took Porter’s place and finished with three points, one rebound, one steal and one blocked shot in 14 minutes of work.

Afterward, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said the team isn’t looking for moral victories and the team will be looking to go out and win Game 3, trailing 2-0 in the series. They will look to carry their energy from the second half into Game 3 and play a complete game after coming out flat on Sunday.

Game 3 is set to tip-off Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
