A report recently suggested the Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow still figure to get an extension done before the team kicks off the season opener against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
Now, there’s more proverbial smoke around that fire.
Another reporter, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, just echoed similar sentiments during an interview.
“Once the Nick Bosa deal got done, again same agent,” Rapoport said. “Here is my understanding of where this stands. There is confidence that Joe Burrow will get a new deal before kickoff.”
For his part, Burrow has said he’s not thinking about the extension and that this is the best he’s felt going into a season opener as a pro. If the contract happens before kickoff, surely that will only make things better.
Of course, Burrow will be the new highest-paid QB when it's finalized… https://t.co/QpUOvskcqs
