The drama of the Michigan football offseason isn’t slowing down as head coach Jim Harbaugh continues his flirtation with returning to the professional ranks.
Harbaugh already interviewed with the Los Angeles Chargers last week and he’s since also conducted two interviews with the Atlanta Falcons, which had appeared to be in hot pursuit of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick (and still may be). The Chargers have been quite deliberate with their interviews, with many coaches — including multiple former head coaches and current coordinators. Harbaugh has been seen as being near the top of their list, and that continues to be the case with the report that he will meet with the Spanos-owned franchise for a second time.

This is no surprise, but given how rumors were out there at the outset that it was all but a done deal with the Chargers just needing to complete the Rooney Rule, the longer this goes on, the more likely it appears it’s nowhere close to a done deal.
As far as Harbaugh’s NFL flirtation, keep in mind: a team will have to actually offer him and he would have to actually accept what is offered for him to depart Michigan. Until that happens, buckle up.
