Earlier in the week, we told you about Ameer Speed, a veteran cornerback for the Georgia Bulldogs who was packing his bags and looking to depart Athens after defensive coordinator Dan Lanning took the head coaching job with the Oregon Ducks.

That seems to be turning into a trend. Bulldogs’ redshirt freshman defensive back Jalen Kimber has entered the transfer portal as well.

Kimber is a former four-star recruit for Georgia, and he was ranked No. 71 overall before committing to the Bulldogs as a part of the 2020 class. Might he feel comfortable following his former DC to Eugene and join Lanning and the Ducks?

During his two seasons with the Bulldogs, Kimber struggled to find the field amid so much defensive talent in Athens. He managed three tackles in three games.

While we likely will not consider every Georgia defensive player to enter the transfer portal a prime target for the Ducks, the fact Oregon has a strong need at the cornerback spot gives us enough reason to think a move from the Bulldogs to Oregon might be something to pay attention to for Kimber.
