The Cleveland Browns have caught a huge break as they take on the Miami Dolphins, as both quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle will miss this Week 17 bout.
While Tagovailoa’s absence was hinted at after the Dolphins downgraded him to doubtful on Saturday, missing Waddle is a significant blow to former Browns quarterback Tyler Huntley, who will need to get the ball out quickly and hope his playmakers can create after the catch. The Browns will still have to prepare for Tyreek Hill and Jonnu Smith, but their jobs just got easier.
Also among the Dolphins’ inactives is former Browns linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., who will not get his homecoming to Cleveland.
Rounding out the rest of the inactives for the Dolphins are cornerback Nic Needham, pass rusher Mohamed Kamara, offensive lineman Andrew Meyer, and wide receiver Erik Ezukanma.
Can the Browns capitalize and capture their fourth win of a rather disappointing 2024 season?
